Click on the link above for information and registration details for the NAGT Far Western Section Fall Field Conference, Geology of the Klamath/Cascade Region, hosted by College of the Siskiyous in Weed, California, October 7-9 2016. As conference host Bill Hirt explains:
California’s Klamath-Cascade region records a 400-million year history of subduction. From accreted oceanic terranes in the eastern Klamath Mountains to young High Cascade volcanoes, the region’s geology illustrates the wide range of processes that shape continental margin subduction zones. The conference program mirrors this diversity by including field trips and presentations that explore topics ranging from eruptive and non-eruptive hazards on Mount Shasta to the transition from a modern volcanic arc to ancient accreted terranes along the Klamath River.
Join us in October for what promises to be an outstanding conference!
